The Legacy Paintings

Being a four time survivor of Cancer, I know first hand, the delicate and challenging road a family takes when faced with this journey. My work has proven to heal my body, mind and spirit. In the contemplation of the work, in it’s actual execution, and with the rewards the work has bestowed me. My work hangs in Wellness Centers, Cancer Support Centers, Mindfulness Communities, and Hospitals throughout the Country, I believe the work continues to heal with it’s pure energy, with it’s depth of soul and with the affirmation like images I am compelled to make. I am told by patients, doctors and staff that it is true.

Several years ago, I was approached by a family to create a “legacy painting” for their father who was in hospice. They gathered words and symbols and gestures as inspiration for me, and I painted a unique “talisman” to remind them and future family members of his value, his kindness, his good and his legacy. Each family member received a Giclee of the painting so they would each have one of their own, in their home. Since then, and with the help of The Dream Foundation, who make the wishes of terminally ill patients come true, I have created many of these bittersweet testimonials to love. www.dreamfoundation.org
